Goosebuds

Welcome to Goosebuds! A podcast where your hosts Paul Ritchey, Chad Quandt, and Kevin Cole dig into the Young Adult Literature of Goosebumps by R.L. Stine and give these tomes the deep critique and respect they deserve. Sometimes they get too scared and cover other adjacent 90s books and culture instead. Come join us and re-discover the stories you grew up with or jump in for the first time.

Paul, Dom, and Chad tackle a legendary Goosebumps sequel with The Haunted Mask II, chronicling the history of The Shopkeeper, his unloved masks, and the horror of aging. Nothing is worse than growing old and until science defeats the Grim Reaper this will be the scariest book. Enjoy.

OTHER TOPICS: Our experimental surgeries, and the curse of Mr. Six Flags.

Paul, Dom, and Chad discuss the mantis-monster story Shocker on Shock Street, about an amusement park with technology far exceeding anything a modern-day Imagineer could come up with. The Shock Street movie series is not only the biggest horror franchise around, it covers all genres and tones: werewolf men, houses with flimsy electrical wiring, skeleton monorails. Pick a lane, movie producers! Enjoy.

OTHER TOPICS: Meatloaf's biggest secret, the problem with having too many friends, capturing your nudes in new mediums, Christmas Milk
